Numbered and signed print #56 if 100 Key West, Florida Framed, approximately 18"x20" Mally Weaver bio - The artist eye has come easily for Mally Weaver. Attracted to the Florida Keys by the stunning color & strong light, she has always been a colorist, even as a student at Temple University, Tyler School of Art. “Some scenes just demand to be captured.” Her early training was in oils & acrylic painting, drawing, design, print making & sculpture - earning degrees in Fine Art, Art Education & Special Ed. When she learned to sail, she incorporated Plein Air watercolor painting. This allowed her the portability & immediacy to capture those “demanding scenes” while traveling. Since then she has joined the Florida Keys Watercolor Society & was awarded the Best of Show in 2005. She studied watercolor technique with Frank Francesse & Karen Leffel-Masengil, which has had an effect on her watercolors – beautiful large washes & a spontaneous joy of painting shows. She still enjoys detailed work & usually is commissioned to paint several works each year, both architectural & portrait work. With her partner, Thomas H. Avery she spends hurricane season in the mountains of NC., where she is a member of the Ashe Co. Art Center & has been juried into their Best of the Blue Ridge Show.
A note from Camp Riva-Lake: Since 1922, Camp-Riva Lake has been a thriving summer camp for girls. It's a place where they can unplug, enjoying the natural beauty around them, building self-confidence, fostering teamwork, learning to ride horses, sailing, canoeing, and so much more. We are celebrating our 100th birthday with a plan to raise $100,000. All proceeds from the auction, and any donations, will be used to refurbish and expand the structures at Camp Riva-Lake, with a special focus on the Playhouse, where the girls play weekly basketball games, sing, dance & perform- it really is the heartbeat of this very special camp we call CRL. Specific renovation plans can be found at camprivalake.com/centennial. Thank you so much for supporting our efforts and happy bidding!
Item delivery: Most items will ship out in mid-August, unless otherwise noted.
